Doyle Dennis Avery LLP and The Youngdahl Firm Sues Trucking Company After Train Wreck
Doyle Dennis Avery LLP and the Youngdahl Law Firm, P.C. recently filed a lawsuit in Harris County, Texas, on behalf of a client injured in a collision between a Union Pacific Railroad Company locomotive and an 18-wheeler truck owned by Jams Trucking. The collision was caused by the negligent conduct of Jams Trucking and its employee Roberto Vasquez.
On or about August 31, 2023, the client was working in the course and scope of his employment as an engineer for Union Pacific Railroad Company. At or near New Caney, Texas, defendant Roberto Vasquez, the driver of the 18-wheeler owned by Jams Trucking, carelessly pulled the truck onto the railroad crossing and into the path of the train. The client was subsequently transported to the emergency room. Our client suffered serious injuries due to the defendants’ negligent acts and omissions that caused the collision. Specifically, the defendants’ failure to come to a full stop at the stop sign posted before the crossing and failure to remove the truck off the railroad tracks resulted in injuries to the client’s neck, back, and body generally. Before the incident, the client was a healthy, able-bodied engineer who has been a loyal employee of Union Pacific Railroad Company for the past 12 years.
